Our story

Born at the foot of Mount Arakynthos

Hand-harvesting olives onto nets in Chrysovergi

Behind CHRYSSOGAEA is the Pessinis family: it is from their village of Chrysovergi that they produce this olive oil.

In the heart of Aetolia-Acarnania, between the Aitoliko lagoon and Lake Lysimachia, the village of Chrysovergi stretches across the foothills of Mount Arakynthos. This is where we grow our olive trees, following the rhythm of the seasons and skills handed down from generation to generation.

We love simple things, done well and true to our roots. From tree to bottle, we preserve the most precious gift of our land: an authentic oil, shaped by the soil, the climate and time.

The gold of Chrysovergi

The name Chrysovergi carries the Greek word chrysó, “gold”. A name that echoes our vision: to make Greek olive oil a precious product, deeply rooted in its terroir.

Our terroir

An ideal microclimate for the olive tree

Between Chrysovergi and Stamna, our olive grove enjoys sunny summers, mild winters and the influence of the Ionian Sea. Fertile soils and Greek sunlight give our olives their full aromatic richness.

The mountain

The slopes of Mount Arakynthos shelter our olive trees.

The waters

The Messolonghi and Aitoliko lagoons and Lake Lysimachia shape the region.

The nature

Migratory birds, wild herbs and aromatic plants make up an unspoilt landscape.

Home of the Kalamon olive, Aetolia-Acarnania is renowned for its olive-growing heritage. Our oil is a reflection of it.
